At last, someone closer to my age(36)! appears on the forum! Of course you're spot on with your observations and indeed Gerry Anderson still is a genius and now that Lord Grade is dead hopefully he will be allowed to shine again. I have introduced my 4 year old son to the show and he is as thrilled now as I was 30 years ago. Apart from the dubious reliance on atomic power for everything in the future, the machinery designs had a lasting effect on me. Vertical take off and landing with the Harrier still in its early development stages, ramp launches, composite rotorcraft and reusable spacecraft to name a few. I probably owe my career choice to Mr Anderson as I have spent the last 18 years as an Aircraft Engineer in the RAF, working on fast jets, Harriers, Chinook and now Puma helicopters. My son is already developing a healthy interest in machinery designs, especially aircraft and who knows, perhaps the revival of Thunderbirds will encourage the next generation of engineers to shape their careers. Well done Carlton for believing in Gerry and having the balls to relaunch the series and if you happen to read this Mr Anderson - Thanks
