It says in the annual that Jeff had to look after all the boys on his own for a while, and in 2022 he has a breakdown. He is told to relax and decides to travel. His plane crashes in the Malaysian jungle, this is where he meets Kyrano and Tintin. I'm not sure of the details after that, but I think Jeff paid for Tintin's education and they ended up living together when he set up international rescue. However, it says nothing about Tintin's mum....(mysterious)
