  THE DOCTOR
by Sarah Lease

Chapter 1

"Well I must say this is fun," Lady Penelope said
"Yes it’s just what I needed," Sarah said happily titling her face up to let the sun hit it warning her cool skin. Sarah was a young woman of 25 with shoulder length brown hair and blue/green eyes, she stood next to Lady Penelope and the two were around the same height.
"Why what’s that?" Lady Penelope asked pointing to the water as it rippled.
"Where?" Sarah asked. She looked trying to spot what had caught her friend’s attention.
"In the water" Penelope said pointing away. Sarah looked to where she was pointing
"Penelope we’re on a boat what could it be?" Sarah asked, then the ship shook like crazy, people screamed and fell over as the ship jerked and rocked and not from the waves.

"Well Mr. Tracy it seems your condition isn’t too bad but I’ll like a second opinion just to be sure" Doctor Johnson said looking at the chart "The only problem is Doctor Lease is off right now but we could page her and see what we can do" he said smiling warmly at his patient.
"Do what you feel you need to" Jeff Tracy said. Doctor Johnson nodded, he walked to his desk and pressed a button on his phone.
"Alex, page Doctor Lease will you" he said then he picked up the file about Jeff and his condition and read it over.
"To be honest your condition doesn’t add up at first you seem fine especially for your age, but then it seems you have a lot of stress which you shouldn’t be getting since you now live on an island in the middle of the ocean" Doctor Johnson said reading the report over again trying to think of what was wrong.
"Doctor" a voice called over the intercom.
"Yes Alex?" Doctor Johnson pressed the button on the phone.
"Doctor Lease can’t come in to the hospital today," Alex said.
"Why not?" Doctor Johnson demanded confused.
"Because she’s is busy right now," Alex said back.
"Busy?" Doctor Johnson asked "Doing what?"
"Just tune in to channel seven" Alex said, Doctor Johnson frowned and ran a hand through his blond hair he was young and impatient but he turned to the wall where the TV sat perched on its stand and he turned on the TV. It was the news on channel seven, a special bulletin.
"Report just in, a cruise ship the Kenya, has been hit by a rogue missile, which is still armed and can go off any minute" the news lady Jane Kobe announced as a picture taken from the news helicopter appeared in the corner of the screen.
"What’s worse the ship is now slowly sinking and cannot be towed back to port by its sister ship the Madden due to the missile," she added.
"Alex are you telling me Doctor Lease is on that ship?" Doctor Johnson yelled shocked.
"Yes" Alex answered sadly, quickly Jeff stood up, he had already decided to call the boys and without a word he left the room.

"Hey there’s a message," Virgil said pointing to the blinking light on his father’s desk.
"Boys" Jeff said, his face was grave, it was clear something was up.
"Hi father what’s wrong?" Virgil asked a little worried, Jeff was in to see a doctor after all.
"Have you seen the news?" Jeff asked.
"No not yet why?" Alan inquired leaning over Virgil’s shoulder.
"A cruise ship has been hit. The one Lady Penelope is on" Jeff reported.
       "What?" Alan and Virgil exclaimed.
"Yes and it seems there’s a missile that can go off any second" Jeff added.
"We’ll get right on it" Scott said who had been listening in from the settee. Quickly he stood up and left via his exit to get ready for the rescue.
"How’s your check up going Father?" Virgil asked quickly.
"Not too bad, they need to bring in a different doctor though" Jeff admitted, not telling them that the doctor was on the same ship as Lady Penelope.
"I don’t believe it Doctor Lease is on the stupid ship, sorry Mr. Tracy, but hey where’d he go?" Dr Johnson called looking round his office for Jeff.
"Father?" Alan asked, as Virgil went to get ready himself.
"I have to go" Jeff told him, he covered his watch and re entered the office knowing there was nothing else he could do.

Meanwhile Lady Penelope and her friend, Sarah was trying to find out what was going on.
"What on earth is happening?" Sarah yelled over the noise of people screaming and panicked cries.
"I have no idea," Lady Penelope called back as she held on to the rail and wondered why she had given Parker the day off. If he was there he could distract Sarah so she could call for help from the guys.
"We’re sinking" a person cried, causing more screams to go up.
"Why don’t we go to the life boats?" Sarah asked looking round at the mayhem around them.
"Didn’t you hear they have gone, the missile knocked them off, we’re stuck" A man yelled as he rushed by in a blind frenzy.
"Oh dear" Lady Penelope said, now getting very worried but keeping her cool none the less.
"This can’t be good," Sarah said shaking her head and wishing she hadn’t got on the boat after all.
"Hey, is that what I think it is?" A person yelled pointing to the sky, a loud noise was heard.
"Yes it’s International Rescue" Lady Penelope said happily, Sarah covered her eyes blocking out the sun so she could see and she did it just in time to see Thunderbird 1 with Scott fly above them.
"Ok Virgil we’ll need Thunderbird 4 out here and fast" Scott reported over the radio.
"Ok Scott we’re on it" Virgil pressed one of the controls causing the pods below to shift to the right one while Gordon ran to do what he had to do to get ready as quickly as possible.
"Well this is just great" Sarah snapped leaning on a rail, everyone had stopped rushing around they decided to stay still, somehow calmer now that Scott had arrived, even though he just soared around.
"Lets take a cruise you said, it’ll take my mind off Kevin you said, well I must say I don’t think Kevin is my main problem now" Sarah complained. Lady Penelope rolled her eyes and sighed.
"Now my dear it isn’t that bad" Lady Penelope assured gently.
"Keep it down" Someone yelled for no reason what so ever.
"Or what? Do you think the missile can hear us?" Sarah asked, after that the annoying person was silent but then someone else screamed.
"What’s wrong with him?" A woman asked as a man lay on the deck twisted around like mad. Sarah ran over with Lady Penelope hot on her heels. Sarah knelt next to him and quickly assessed what was going on.
"He’s going into shock" Sarah reported watching his body twist and jerk.
"We need a doctor," someone, once again in panic. Sarah felt the beginnings of a headache.

"Oh no guys we’ve got trouble" Scott said, Tin-tin was listening in, back at base, since Jeff was not there to do it.
"What seems to be the problem?" she asked hoping it wasn’t too bad.
"Someone’s down" Scott reported watching the poor man twist.
"Don’t worry there’s a doctor on the ship" Tin-tin said. Scott watched as Sarah listened to the man’s heart and then injected him with something from a first aid box that Lady Penelope had given her.
"I see her," Scott said relieved "How did you know there was a doctor?" he asked confused as to how she knew that.
"Oh remember your father had to see one? Well his doctor wants to ask that one for a second opinion on something" Tin-tin explained remembering what Jeff had said when he called back to see how things where going a few minutes before Scott called in.
"Is father ok?" Scott asked quickly worried.
"Yes he’s fine but those people aren’t" Tin-tin pointed out and that snapped Scott out of it.
"Right I think I see Virgil coming" Scott said, "Got to go Tin-tin"
Thunderbird 2 dropped thunderbird 4 in the water but everyone was too busy watching Sarah taking care of the man to see, everyone but Lady Penelope that is.
Gordon began to look for the missile and soon found it stuck half way in the ship, a red light flashing, showing that it was armed Gordon thought quickly of the best way to handle this then, he used the mechanical arms to reach forward and open a small door on the missile. The wires were exposed, but fortunately they were waterproof so Gordon didn’t have to worry about the water causing them to short circuit.
"Er guys which wire do I pull?" Gordon asked as he realized he didn’t know which wire to pull.
"Er" Virgil and Scott answered together, but neither knew.
"What colours are there?" Virgil asked. Gordon looked at the wires
"Red, green, yellow" Gordon replied racking his brain for the right answer
"Oh what is it? Red you’re dead, green you lose your spleen?" Scott asked trying to remember the rhyme. Lady Penelope was listening to this on her watch since Sarah was now too preoccupied with taking care of the man in shock, to notice
"No, no it’s red you’re dead, yellow will kill a fellow, green your keen" she said shaking her head wondering how they had forgotten that.
"Are you sure?" Scott asked concerned
"I think so," Lady Penelope said beginning to wonder if she was right
"Ok I’ll pull the green one" Gordon said. There was silence as he caught the wire and pulled it. The ship shook and people screamed as the missile disarmed itself.
"Good job Gordon" Lady Penelope praised as she felt the relief fill her.
"Let’s get out of here, the sister ship can help them back now," Gordon said returning to Thunderbird 2.
"What about the doctor for Father?" Scott asked, suddenly remembering.
"Doctor?" Lady Penelope asked as she looked at Sarah over her shoulder
"Penelope?" Sarah called looking for her gaze as she looked up, as the man relaxed, finally stable
"I’ve got to go" Lady Penelope she closed her watch and turned to face Sarah Scott looked down then decided to leave
"Tin-tin said it wasn’t serious I’m sure the doctor will see him once he gets back" Virgil said trying to assure his brothers
"When she gets back" Scott corrected
"Oh really? And how do you know?" Gordon teased. Scott blushed but said nothing he was glad they couldn’t see his cheek grow red.

Once back to shore Sarah said goodbye to Lady Penelope and decided to go straight home to rest, but as soon as she got in her car her pager went off. Sarah grabbed her mobile phone and dialed a number she knew off by heart
"Yes?" a voice at the end of the line, Sarah knew that voice.
"Alex it’s me" Sarah said, "You paged me, what’s up?" she asked starting her car
"We need you in here Sarah, nothing big, no ones dead or anything, but come in anyway" Alex said. Sarah was already on the high way heading to the hospital as quickly as legally possible.

On to Chapter 2.
